Overview

We collect the minimum data needed to send Unity release alerts and manage subscriptions. We do not sell user data. Some data is processed by third-party services that power email delivery, payments, analytics, and optional AI summaries.

Data we collect

• Email address for notifications and account access.
• Subscription preferences (streams, instant vs. digest).
• Technical data such as IP address, user agent, and pages viewed.
• Payment data handled by Lemon Squeezy (we do not store card details).
• Operational logs related to notifications and release checks.

• Send email alerts and manage your subscription.

Legal bases for processing

We process data for the purposes below and rely on these legal bases:

• Notifications and email updates: consent.
• Account access and subscription fulfillment: contract.
• Security, abuse prevention, and service analytics: legitimate interests.
• Billing, tax, and record-keeping: legal obligation.

Services and processors

• Resend for email delivery (privacy policy).
• Lemon Squeezy for payments, billing, and tax compliance (privacy policy).
• DigitalOcean for hosting infrastructure.
• Umami (self-hosted) for analytics.
• Optional AI providers for release note summaries (OpenAI, OpenRouter, or Google Gemini) when enabled.
• Optional Novu for multi-channel notifications when enabled.

These providers may process data on our behalf under their own terms and privacy policies.

International transfers

Some processors are based outside the EU/EEA. Resend states that data may be transferred to the United States, and Lemon Squeezy states that data is stored and processed in the United States. Where required, transfers rely on appropriate safeguards such as Standard Contractual Clauses or equivalent measures provided by these processors.

Analytics and cookies

We use Umami analytics in a self-hosted setup. It is configured to avoid cookies and does not track you across other websites. Umami may store a localStorage flag only to remember an opt-out. If this configuration changes, we will update this policy.

We honor browser Do Not Track signals for analytics.

Retention

We keep your data while you are subscribed or have an active account. You can unsubscribe at any time using the link in our emails. Operational logs are retained for a limited period (typically up to 30 days). Account data is removed within 30 days after unsubscribe unless legal obligations require longer retention. Payment records are handled by Lemon Squeezy for legal and tax compliance (typically up to 10 years).

Your rights

If you are in the EU, you may request access, correction, deletion, restriction, data portability, or object to processing. You may withdraw consent at any time. Use the unsubscribe link in any email to stop notifications.

You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the Hamburg Commissioner for Data Protection and Freedom of Information (HmbBfDI).

Children

This service is not directed to children under 16. If you believe a child has provided personal data, please contact us to have it removed.
